Building News

Monday, October 18, 2010
We continue to ask for extended giving as we finish up odds and ends, reduce the short term loan, and meet our extension fund obligation.

Estate Gift - we recently received a gift of $11,000 from the Mueller Estate. What a wonderful gift to the Lord's work.

Open House

Monday, September 13, 2010
We had a really nice turnout for the Open House on Aug29. We thank the Fulfillment committee and our Building Committee for all the goodies, setup, flowers, and for serving. These two hard working committees have formally been dismissed. We thank them for a remarkable gift of service they have shared in the last 3.5 years. It was a very nice Sunday afternoon.

Dedication Sunday

Sunday, June 6, 2010
Thank you! And you, and you, and you, and you.. Sunday, June 6 was a remarkable day of dedicating the new Christian Family Life Center.

The Preachers - we heard three fine sermons from Pastors David Schmidt, Jonathan Offt, and Reed Lessing.

The Music - wonderful anthems.

The Food - from the morning reception to the German meal at noon with sausage to the afternoon kuchen. Ymm!

Buggy rides, clowns, music and more.

The afternoon dedication reflections and prayers were heart warming and moving. We thank those who were a part of this dedication and all those who made this day possible.

Thus far has the Lord helped us.

The brick work is now completed, the roof is being completed, and more windows are being installed.

Building Progress

Tuesday, September 8, 2009
We are making progress ahead of schedule. Walls continue to take shape and concrete floors are being poured. We continue to ask for your help to accelerate your giving to keep pace with the project expenses.

A couple special needs have been met including the cross on the Euclid side of the building and the portable basketball hoops. Additional special needs for you to consider are the volleyball system and tiling of the gym floor.

Our continued hope is that every family, according to its ability, will provide generous and sacrificial gifts to the Building Together in Faith project.

Month on a Mission

Sunday, May 31, 2009
May was a busy month in the life of our congregation and the Building News.

May 3rd was the Groundbreaking Event for our new Christian Family Life Center. Huge thanks go out to the many volunteers and committees for a hoedown of a day. You can view the event pictures on our photo gallery.

With dirt work and construction beginning the following day, we needed to focus on additional parking space. We were able to address this need with the purchase of the Ledbetter property on May 11. Due to lots of hard working hands, the back of the Ledbetter property has been cleared. It has been graveled and you may now park there.

We finished the month on May 31, the Day of Pentecost, with a busy day of activities. We installed new officers for the coming year. We had an open house at the Ledbetter property between services. Our JYM kids had a fun afternoon of games with the Captive Free band. Captive Free will be here this week to help lead our Vacation Bible School.

As you heard last week and have now seen in your campaign newsletter that you received this week with your October calendar, we have arrived at $900,000 in the Building Fund account. Also, a topographical survey has been done by Brosz Engineering and contractor interviews will be conducted in October. Lord willing, we will be breaking ground Sunday, May 3, 2009.
