About Our Day Care
The purpose of Faith Lutheran Daycare Center is to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for the children in our care. Our focus is to provide high quality care in an environment that promotes caring, respectful and responsive relationships with children from infancy through preschool age by partnering with families to support each child’s development. Faith Lutheran Daycare’s vision is that every child who comes into the center’s care experiences the love of God, the love of the Faith Lutheran Church Community and the love of their caregivers. Faith Lutheran Daycare Center is committed to excellence in its programs so that children have a stable, healthy, consistent environment in which to mature emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Faith Lutheran Daycare Center admits students of any race, color, creed, religion, sex, and national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities available to students at the Center. The Center is a non-profit organization in full compliance with the State of South Dakota licensing requirements set by the South Dakota Department of Social Services.
Faith Lutheran Church has been offering day care services since 1988. The goal of the day care is to provide loving child care in a Christian atmosphere.
The program consists of supervised creative play within a scheduled routine. Children hear a Bible story and sing Christian songs daily. Outside play in the fenced play yard is a regular part of the daily routine. Nutritious lunches and snacks are provided.
Faith Day Care is licensed to provide for up to 126 children. Day care hours are from 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Children from ages four weeks up until they start kindergarten old are welcome to attend.

We are looking to add to our loving staff and are in need of an Early Childhood teacher for our preschool program. Responsibilities will include lesson planning and implementation, room organization and cleaning, and meeting the daily needs of our little ones. We use a themed curriculum, and focus on arts and crafts, readiness skills, motor skills, and social and emotional growth.
We are also looking to add a cook and a nurturing staff member for our younger children.
Early Childhood education and experience preferred. If you are starting out in the field, we can help you attain certification. We are open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be able to communicate, interpret policies and rules, follow written or oral instructions, and establish and maintain effective relationships with children, their families, and other employees.
Must be punctual and reliable in attendance
Related experience in a childcare setting preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:
Help provide care for children ages 0-12
Help plan and participate in the children’s daily activities
Create and Implement weekly lesson plans based off of provided curriculum
Provide opportunities for each child’s emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, and physical growth
Provide opportunities that will: support the independence of children, nurture a child’s positive self-image, stimulate a child’s intellect, and provide for a loving Christian atmosphere
Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of Daycare center facilities (including of daycare toys daily)
Maintain a professional demeanor including positive and effective working relationships, and comply with applicable state and federal statutes, rules, and regulations in order to effectively carry out the daily functions of the Faith Lutheran Church Daycare Center
Perform other work as required.
Attend monthly staff meetings and accumulate the required 20 hours of in-service training annually, starting from hiring date including obtaining and maintaining CPR and First Aid certification.

We have a wish list going for the daycare on Amazon. We have been looking for things similar to these items else where too, but if you’re able and willing to buy or donate items listed (whether from Amazon, items from your home that you no longer use or need, or somewhere else), we would be more than thankful!
We are building up our preschool centers so that we can expose the children to different things in Math, Science, arts, and other Centers.
