The last week of May 2018, a team of 12 from Faith Lutheran traveled to El Paso to take part in evangelism and servant projects in Juarez, Mexico through Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care.
Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care is a faith-based organization that provides relief and human care services while planting and nurturing missions on the U.S./Mexico border (El Paso/Juarez region). Founded in 1982, YLM provides aid and ministry services that benefit the lives of thousands of people every year. Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care is a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the LCMS.
The Servant Event program at YLM provides opportunities for service to youth and adults from around North America. Servant event groups show God’s love through service at YLM as well as 6 mission sites in Juarez, 4 near Chihuahua City, and the Sparks and Horizon City Colonias in Texas just outside the El Paso city limits. Since their inception in 1982, servant events have been integral in supporting the ministries that occur there by working on projects related to mission maintenance, human care, education, and evangelism.
Our Faith Lutheran group had a tremendous trip as servants, using their time, talents, and treasures God has given them to share Christ in our words and in our actions. Please see the photo gallery and come to their presentation on Sunday, July 8th, from 9:45 - 10:45 to hear about it and find out how to join in next year.
