“To be continued . . .” Those simple words sometimes show up on the screen at the conclusion of a television show, announcing that something is yet to come to complete what has already been presented. The theme of the Last Sunday of the Church Year is that sort of message. Over the past Church Year, the history of salvation in Christ has been presented, and the work of the Holy Spirit through the Church has been celebrated. Now, the return of Christ the King is awaited, when the divine plan is unfolded. To what has been, what is now, and what will be in God’s design, we add our joyful “Amen!”
